Conversation with a Compromiser

This is an email exchange I had with a veteran friend who is also a brother-in-Christ.
He was explaining why he has not stood with us in a local Vets for Trump stand.
I have deleted the name of the local public high school and inserted LPHS. Also, I corrected any misspelled words that I noticed. A couple of parenthesis are added for clarification.
Your comments, including criticism of me, are welcome.
Friend: (His absence is due to) LPHS Bowling practice started once school started.
Karl: WHAT! Are you working with a public school?
Friend: Yes, assistant bowling coach for LPHS starting second or third year now
Karl: Shame on you. You are helping the Devil.
Friend: No I am not... teaching High School kids to bowl and be successful at it. We practice at (deleted) Lanes.
Karl: You can deny reality if you want. Public schools are being used by Satan. You are offering aid and comfort to the enemy.
Friend: Perspective my friend... think about it... watchman on the wall...
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Karl: Oh, I have thought about it. By your compromised logic, you should coach a team from the Universalist Church.

Friend: I am sorry... whose logic are you saying is compromised? The only logic I shared with you was HIS logic... not mine...

Anyone Not Against Us Is for Us
Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
Mar 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
This was so important Luke noted the short version.

Karl: Your scripture verses have nothing to do with you helping Satan's school.
This is between you and God, so this is my last comment.

Friend: Those scripture verses are very applicable. May the Holy Spirit remove your blinders.
Salt and Light
Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Salt and light needs to remain in the schools. How else do you reach out to the lost there?
It is vanity to think that all parents will remove their children from schools and home school them. Wot not you care for children left to strive through the bramble, briers, tares, thorns and weeds of Satan’s lies in public school.
We have a difference of perspective that is all.
You shine forth with your encourage home school project.
And I will shine forth being salt and light to kids where they are.

I DOUBLE DARE you to witness to the kids about their need to get saved.
By your logic, you should use your immense talents and limited time to coach a Muslim bowling team. After all, "Salt and light needs to remain in the Mosques. How else do you reach out to the lost there? It is vanity to think that all Muslims will remove their children from Mosques and home school them. Wot not you care for children left to strive through the bramble, briers, tares, thorns and weeds of Satan’s lies in Mosques."
Also, I have seen the lame excuse of "Salt and light" used to avoid rescuing children and it is a pitiful shame that Bible believeing Christians use it.
I can direct you to Christian schools and homeschoolers that could really use your God-given gifts.
Friend: Then We can discuss this when we see the Lord face to face.
Go re-read every verse I shared with you. That is the Lord’s word on the matter.
If the Lord wants me to be salt and light, then he wants me to be salt and light with every opportunity he gives me to serve others. I serve at Elk Valley Christian... I serve at Capital High School with the bowling team.
There you are hanging a millstone about my neck saying I am serving satan. Judging without regarding the beam in your own eye.
You go on serving the Lord where he leads you and I will do the same.
Did the Lord preserve me through that car accident for you to accuse me of serving satan?
This is a difference of perspective the Lord does not want us bickering about.
You are walking in fellowship with Job’s friends on this matter and wasting my time because this is vanity.
Friend: (two hours later) Wow... there you are casting bonds of contention and strife upon me... just before I served as worship leader at (name deleted) First Baptist where now I am hearing a message from our new Young Life area shepherd who goes into schools with Christian youth programs They bear much fruit in leading youth to Christ, right where they are.
COMMENTS and CONCLUSION
I received two comments, following in the order received.
1. Good summary: "You use scripture to excuse your aiding and abetting an evil system."
Often there appears to be a fine line between using scripture to explain your actions and using scripture to justify your actions. However, the truth is - they are enormously different - and God is not fooled.

2. Yeah, you might have gone a little overboard there, saying he was helping Satan and all that. It's not like he's giving money to the school, or sending his kids there, or teaching a regular class, even, or necessarily encouraging others who wouldn't have.
Gotta pick your battles; there's enough to fight in this world.

Had I responded to the Compromiser’s last post, I would have said:
Great, you should do the same thing. Your Young Life area shepherd is like a missionary to a heathen country who is blatantly preaching the Gospel. Your strategy is like a UNICEF worker, who happens to be a Christian, doing UNICEF projects in the same country.
Here is how I served the Lord in Satan’s system. I always had hanging on my classroom wall a 12 x 20 inch plaque “As a Man Thinketh” which had the entire text to Philippians 4:8. When school time release clubs came about, some students asked me to sponsor their “What Would Jesus Do?” club. I cosponsored Fellowship of Christian Athletes clubs and I sponsored a Creation Club as well as engaging in a series of battles for the Creator starting with the Evolution Resolution. I point out those things not to brag, but to show other examples of doing something for God inside the public school system.
