As a result of the publicity surrounding the announcement of the Literal Genesis Trial Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo was contacted by numerous bluffers. One was a guy named Barry. I became aware of Barry after receiving a copy of his 3/24/2013 1:26:17 P.M. email. What follows is the unedited email exchange. (There may be a missing email from Barry between my 3/25/2013 9:10:17 P.M. and 3/26/2013 1:43:33 P.M. emails.)

Read and observe the strength of the argument for evolutionism. I allowed Barry to have the last word.

I must tell you, Barry, that I much prefer for Dr M to wait until the Creation Science Hall of Fame promotion with a North Eastern Newspaper has been announced first, giving those "takers" to the contest fist preference and you second.

Dr. Mastropaolo, could you just take Barry's information and "hold off" until the CSHF promotion has been completed with the newspaper advertisement in the North East, US?

I wouldn't want anyone saying that the contest is a sham in the Newspaper because they had to wait until Barry has entered and completed the contest first. I should had waited for the Newspaper announcement before sending out the contest offer over the internet.

BTW, Nick, your mail gave me the false impression that this was a new offer. Googling around shows this to be incorrect. I believe the original challenge was issued even before the Dover trial (which settled this matter definitively in law). It's time for you people to pack it in.

Let's keep it simple. Are you saying that "Three Layers of Endogenous Retroviral" is your BEST proof of evolution ( microbes to man)? Be specific and I will give a specific rebuttal and we can both publish the correspondence and be done with it.

You see, belief in evolutionism is a heart--not a head--problem. If your heart is set on rejecting scientific FACTS that NOTHING is evolving and EVERYTHING is devolving, you will not be changed. Of course, you know that I will not be changed either, but I have OBSERVABLE science on my side. Creationist dishonesty. By their fruits you will know them. You know very well that I never claimed that ERVs were evidence of "microbes to man evolution".

But can you explain why you and I share so many apparently orthologous endogenous retroviruses with Charlie the chimp, other than by endogenization in common ancestors? Of course you can't, which is why you are forced to ignore the evidence and resort to dishonest tactics.

Can you explain how the speed of light could have varied, yet apparent pulsar rates have not, just as we would expect them to had the speed of light remained constant, thus bearing witness to an ancient universe? Of course you can't, which is why you have to ignore the evidence.

Can you explain why thousands of lake varves correlate with carbon isotope ratios just as if they were deposited annually, serenely unaffected by a global flood last that is supposed to have happened last Thursday from a geological perspective? Of course you can't. Your beliefs have rendered you incapable even of simple counting.

Look at the evidence I sent you. You asked for it after all. If you don't understand it, ask me for explanations. But get your $10,000 ready, or be prepared to be exposed as thorough scoundrels.
