ONLY ORIGINALS!

by Karl Priest May 24, 2011 (revised 8-13-12)

Of all of God’s created creatures none have the variety in size, shape, and show-off coloration as do the insects. There are millions of species and literally billions of many of the species. One would think that some would be duplicated. Evidence points toward the fact that each and every insect is an original!

My good friend, Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo, published Originality throughout the Universe—Classical Science Laws for Life on Earth in 2011. The theme of the book is that there is a “mega-engineer” behind all of creation.

Originality uses the mathematics of probability (explained in a way that the non-mathematician can easily understand) to demonstrate why everything in the universe, from stars to sand—EVERYTHING—is unique. All planets and all protozoa are originals. You name it—it is an ORIGINAL. Of course, the parts about insects are the subject of this article.

First, an explanation of the math. Using the example of Wilson A. Bentley, Dr. Mastropaolo explains the difference between speculation, hypothesis, theory, and law.

Let us pretend that Bentley’s speculation arose when he had his first snowflake and predicted that the second snowflake would have a different configuration, that is, it would be an original, not a duplicate. He reasoned that the second snowflake could make his prediction wrong. That may be expressed as 1 of the 2 snowflakes could make the prediction wrong, or 1 divided by 2, 1/2, or 0.50. That is P, for probability, equals 0.50. At that stage, the probability of being wrong, P = 0.50, may be called a speculation. After the first 20 snowflakes were judged originals, and with the probability of being wrong on the next snowflake at P < 0.05, probability less than 0.05, that originality speculation became more certain. Let us call that greater certainty a hypothesis. The hypothesis became more certain when he had tried without failure the equivalent of 100 determinations for the development of a hypothesis. The number of trials, N, = 2,000, and P = 0.0005. Let us call this greater certainty a theory. His theory became more certain when he had in effect tried without failure the equivalent of 200 determinations for the development of a hypothesis, N = 4,000, P = 0.00025. Let us call this greater certainty a law. (pg 4)

Using more than two of each insect, Dr. Mastropaolo made the following determinations.

“Ants are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 43)

“Bees (different breeds) are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 43)

“Wasps are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a hypothesis, P < 0.5. (pg. 44)

“Beetles are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 45)

“Cockroaches are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5 . (pg. 47)

“Flies are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 48)

“Dragonflies are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a hypothesis, P < 0.5. (pg. 49)

“Grasshoppers are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 50)

“Moths are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a speculation, P = 0.5. (pg. 51)

“Dragonflies are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a hypothesis, P < 0.5. (pg. 49)

“Butterflies are originals,” may be held with the certainly of a hypothesis, P < 0.5 . (pg. 51)

Accordingly, the conclusion that all drosophilae are originals has the certainty of a hypothesis, P < 0.05. (pg. 69)

Dr. Mastropaolo used bees (concentrating on their wings) to look closely at a species.

Among insects, the common honeybee (Apis mellifera) may be used to investigate the originality question within a breed. (pg. 57)

Accordingly, the conclusion that all honeybees are originals has the certainty of a hypothesis, P < 0.05. (pg. 67)

A reasonable estimate of the percentage of all animals on earth is that 75% are insects. There are about 220 MILLION insects for each human being! Therefore, Dr. Mastopaolo’s findings point to an absolutely amazing fact. A fact that is almost beyond finding words to explain. The term “mega” does not adequately describe the genius behind the observable originality of creation.

The following quotes from Dr. Mastropaolo were made before he published Originality.

"Vast originality represents a vast intelligence, not evolution, because endless originality requires infinite wisdom for the most difficult of intellectual tasks."

“The law of omniscient originality states that each living organism is an original. No living organism was identical to it in the past and no living organism will be identical to it in the future. Further, each of its parts is an original. Furthermore, each entity in the nonviable universe is an original and each of its parts is an original.

“The only question remaining may be the source of the omnipresent bounded omniscient originality fact. Evolution cannot do it. It has no brain and omniscient originality requires mega-intelligence. Nature can't do it because it has no brain either and every event devolves, degenerates, the opposite of what is wanted. What is wanted is continual unlimited novelty that is constrained and functional not only for the individual but also for its population and for the byproduct sharing requirements for the survival of the interdependent biosphere.

“There is only one candidate omnipresent omniscient originator.”

Every insect is an original individual as proven by the analyses of the wing vein patterns (pp. 59-69, Originality Throughout the Universe) of the bee and fruit flies. God does not mass produce. He not only makes marvels but He makes each marvel a work of art for the inimitable beauty and harmony of His creation. For His symphony not only is every violin a different size but it plays a harmony that no other violin plays and so it is for every musician in His orchestra. That is partly why only His creation can teach us what beauty can be and our attempts to copy always fall short.
